      Sensei Dino

      Sensei Dino Ianerio began martial arts over 49 years ago, with Sensei Montey Guest, who was one of the first students with Sensei Tsuroka. Sensei Tsuroka established Chito-ryu karate in Canada in 1958 and soon after was considered the father of Canadian Karate.

      Sensei Dino began his martial arts career in 1969, Since then he was the founder for Black Tiger Karate in the ’80s and adapted into Shotokan Karate. He also studied with many other great instructors during his Martial Arts path e.g. 1983’ studied Hapkido & Tangsudo (older version of Taekwondo) instructed by Grand Master Kee Ta Chung, Jujutsu, Kali, Tai Boxing, traditional Japanese weapons, traditional marital & non-marital art weapons.

    About

    At Black Tiger Karate we strive to give children a strong foundation built with structure and discipline, meanwhile entertaining and educating in a semi-fun environment.

    Our classes have a good warm up and stretching to help prevent muscle injuries.

    In this class environment we have a diverse range of students whom showing a different levels of attributes. Conditioning our student physically is one of our priorities, but also building a strong foundation is part of our art. We also teach karate history and its basic language to widen the mind. Our structure is based on mental and physical abilities, which creates our body and mind to work as one. Building respect, confidence, modesty, enlightenment, and street awareness in each student is important to us.

    These classes consist of three elements, which are - “Kihon” (Basics) we teach the foundations of defensive movements of blocks and counter movements from high blocks. – Kumite (engagement) we create an environment and situations where the basics can be applied and teach how to react properly in many different occasions. – Kata (Form) this is where the student must show discipline, and learns to do the movements in sequences to perform before their piers and instructors. Black Tiger teaches the children to be a good role model for other students whom are at the same level or lower and the community.

    In these classes we start with a good warm up and stretching to prevent injuries from any non-active muscles. We have a higher expectancy in respect and in effort from these students for achieving the best results. Building strength with-in your core, growing your flexibility for speed, accuracy and relaxation is key for a good foundation in our teaching.

    In this class environment we understand that some students will enter at different stages and levels. We assess each individual and build not just on the strong attributes but as well on their weaknesses. The classes have a full understanding of respect, restraint and control as we use our skills in class. We structure these classes not to just learn blocks and punches, but to use them interactively with one another. Mature students will be taught higher and more complicated self-defense technics that should be use only when required.
    As you become stronger and more knowledgeable in many more restraints and counter active offensive/defensive movements we except discipline and respect.
    Attendance is important to have any growth in any of our students.

    This class is designed to help everyone at any stage of fitness or level of capabilities. It may not be a matter of bulking up if you choose this class. But it is a place for everyone starting at any level who really wants to achieve many beneficial changes for their health and lifestyle. This class demonstrates that toning exercises with some resistance will produce noticeable changes physically and internally. You achieve more stamina, stable balance, positive posture by the end of each class. Make no mistake this class takes your health into consideration as you get that full body workout without compromising your energy and muscle work. All you need is 3 nonconsecutive days without compromising your energy for the rest of the day. You get the low impact cardio but burning calories with enough heart-pumping moves. Don’t hold off!
